For me, herringbone stitch is one of those bead weaving stitches where Im not afraid to experiment and discover all it has to offer. Maybe its the history and culture behind herringbone stitch with its origins in South Africa that speaks to me. Whatever it is, I love the look and feel of herringbone stitch in all of its many forms and variations, and I love how versatile it is.
I think I really got hooked on herringbone stitch after I purchased a kit from Leslie Frazier at Bead Fest Philadelphia back in 2009. She had a selection of her gorgeous Autumn Dreams necklace kits for sale, and I was totally in love with the earthy brown and green colors. Full Article…

You can even choose your birthstones or you children’s birthstone to give it a special meaning.
- Stone cut: You can choose almost any stone cut for your ring wrap. You can turn your engagement ring into a three stone ring by simply buying the right ring guard. Or you can play with traditional cuts like round, mixed with something like a trillion cut or a trapezoid cut. Playing with the cuts can take you from perfectly traditional to perfectly unique.
- Setting type: Ring guards come in almost any setting type. If your engagement ring is channel set, you might want to choose a channel set ring wrap. On the other hand, if you have a channel set engagement ring, you might want to consider a prong set ring wrap. You can actually choose almost any combination of ring wrap and get any look you want.
There are so many variations of engagement ring wraps that it is almost overwhelming. The best approach to take when trying to choose one, is to simply read over the points made above and decide what type you want. Many people actually make a sketch of their ideal ring wrap so that when they begin shopping they have a clear idea of what they want to buy. Once you know what you want, finding it should be easy. You can walk into any jeweler or you can shop online. Either way, you are sure to find what you want.
